Today, I’d like to write a slightly special letter.
On October 31, 2025, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, commonly known as FFBE, ended its service.
The beginning of our journey in Eorzea actually started with FFBE as the trigger.
So today, I want to write a letter of gratitude to FFBE.
FFBE launched its service 10 years ago, on October 22, 2015.
Back then, my older brother wasn’t someone who played games at all.
But, by some unfortunate (or fortunate?) coincidence, he was hospitalized and had a lot of free time.
Around the same time, he discovered the newly launched FFBE and happened to start playing it.
He might have been one of the rare few who played it from release day.
Since my brother didn’t play games, this was naturally his first mobile game.
I remember how completely engrossed he became in it.
The pixel art was adorable, the story was engaging, and the BGM was wonderful.
He’d spend hours preparing for boss battles, and I’d watch in awe from the side, thinking how impressive it was.

After that, he always kept up with the official FFBE broadcasts. It became fun to watch Producer Hirono, Chuuni-chan, Misoshiru-chan, and the others. We even started attending events.
Looking back, I realize FFBE gave us so many “firsts.”
In FFBE, alongside original characters, many characters from past Final Fantasy titles appeared.
However, for some reason, FF14 characters never showed up in regular gacha pulls.
Because of that, my brother thought, “Maybe FF14 is a special existence even among the Final Fantasy series.”
(Later, he vaguely understood there was a different reason for it, lol.)
▼ Y’shtola, whom we met in FFBE!

Gradually, my brother grew more interested in FF14.
Then, around Christmas 2017, he set foot in Eorzea for the first time.
If FFBE hadn’t existed, we might not be in this world of Eorzea today.
That’s why we’re truly grateful to FFBE.
The fact that we’re now living happily in Eorzea every day is, in a way, thanks to FFBE—no exaggeration.
For us siblings, FF14 has become more than just a game; it’s a vast world where we’ve found a true “place to live.”
Entertainment in the form of “games” can connect like a chain, changing someone’s life and bringing them happiness… I can’t help but feel that deeply.

Though the service has now ended, I believe FFBE has touched many people’s lives, just as it made ours happier, leaving behind countless memories.
After all, it lasted for 10 whole years. That’s a significant part of one’s life.
I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to Producer Hirono and everyone involved in FFBE.
Thank you so, so much!
I sincerely hope that happiness pours down on everyone who was part of it.
And I truly hope that someday, we’ll meet Rain, Laswell, and Fina again!
Thank you so, so much! Sob
