Ta-da! I got something that looks just like those firefighter poles you see in period dramas♪

You mean a “matoi” ? I get the vibe, but it’s a bit different without the square frame.

I see… Then it must be one of those purification wands used by Shinto priests!

At the tip of the staff, true to its fox-inspired name, there’s a fluffy ornament. The small bells add an adorable accent♪

The diamond-shaped paper streamers give it a distinctly Japanese aesthetic.

The shaft is made of wood.

The end of the handle is simple in design, but the use of gold gives it a subtle sense of elegance.

With the bells, it does feel very shrine-like!

But judging from the Japanese name, it’s a monk’s staff… so it might not actually be from a shrine.

This is such a precious treasure for putting together a Japanese-style White Mage outfit♪

I’ve also recorded a video showing how it looks in motion!

And with that, this concludes the record of the Japanese-style White Mage weapon, “Hakuko Cane.”

It even matches Norico’s Japanese-style steampunk outfit today—surprisingly versatile!
