Today marks exactly 6 years since I first started writing this Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary. And now, today, we begin our 7th year.

I truly never imagined it would last this long — not even close.

I set out to record the treasures I found, one by one, every day — thinking I’d finish once I’d written them all down. But here we are, and there are still so many treasures left to document.

That’s just how it is with this world — it overflows with wonderful things. Eorzea is, without question, endlessly vibrant, beautiful, and kind.

Everything designed into this world — the clothes and weapons, the mounts and minions, the landscapes and music, the stories, the atmosphere, the spirit of it all — and the memories made with friends, the passion of the development team, the heart of every adventurer — I love all of it. That love, and that gratitude, is what keeps me writing this Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary.

I want this world to go on forever. I want more and more people to find their way to this “second world to live in.”

So I keep writing — with a wish, and a prayer.

Ever since the Fan Fest announcement of the next expansion, Evercold — I’ve been getting the sense that the number of adventurers is growing. And that makes me so happy!

To anyone who has newly set out on their adventure and somehow found their way to this Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary — I hope the time you spend here feels warm, gentle, and a little magical.

This isn’t a two-way medium, so I’ll never know what you thought when you read something here… but if even one thing became a spark for your next adventure, that means everything to me.

I’m always writing with a wish: may your days in Eorzea be filled with happiness.

May kindness ripple outward, and warmth pass from one heart to the next.

This isn’t a strategy site. It’s not a catalog. It’s just our small, quiet adventure log — and the fact that so many of you have taken the time to read it… I’m genuinely, deeply moved.

It’s been about a year and a half now since you disappeared from this world, hasn’t it?

We both started our adventure around the same time, so you’ve always felt like a childhood friend to me. More than that, even — like a fellow warrior who stood beside me through all kinds of hardships.

We were together in this world for such a long time. It felt completely natural to have you there. Just knowing you were around made me feel at ease.

About two weeks after you stopped logging in, I started getting worried. And then, when a whole month had gone by, it finally sank in.

“Oh… she’s really gone, isn’t she…”

I was so worried. I felt lonely, and it really got me down.

A year and a half has passed since then, and I still miss you.

I hope you’re doing okay.

I really do hope you are.

You were never that strong physically, so I truly, sincerely hope you’re staying healthy.

Since the days you were here, this world has been on the verge of another big change.

You probably haven’t been following the PLLs or FanFests, but something big is definitely coming.

There’s a new story beginning called EVERCOLD — apparently launching next year.

I watched the trailer, and honestly? It looks like it’s absolutely going to be amazing.

Oh, and — you’ll be able to play on Switch 2 as well, apparently.

Do you have a Switch 2? If you do, that would work perfectly too.

I find myself thinking back a lot.

When we first started our adventure, we both got tangled up in the kind of messy social dynamics that MMOs are unfortunately known for.

We went through a lot, got hurt more than a few times, had more than our share of bitter moments — but we always talked it through together and somehow made it out okay, didn’t we? Looking back on it now, those are actually good memories. (haha)

Because of all that, only the good, comfortable parts of this MMO life remain for us now.

And this world is still growing.

More beautiful. Gentler.

It was just natural to have you around.

Sure, it’s not like we were constantly doing things together — but without you here, it still feels lonely.

Come to think of it, the last thing we did together was level up Blue Mage on Thavnair, wasn’t it?

On that note — Beastmaster is getting implemented soon.

I’m pretty sure it’ll be so much fun.

Because your companions are going to be animals, you know? That adorable cat you always loved might become your partner too. (Well… they are called beasts, so maybe no cat…?)

Every day I wait for you, quietly hoping that maybe today will be the day you come back. With a little flutter of anticipation.

But for now, more than anything else — I just want you to be okay.

I’m always praying that you — my childhood friend, my fellow warrior — are living your days in peace.

On this “Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary,” there’s actually a nostalgic little “access counter” quietly sitting in the sidebar.

When I looked at it just now, I noticed it had passed 20 million views before I even realized. Wow.

To be honest, I’m not really sure whether that number is big or not. But thinking that this simple record of our adventures has been seen 20 million times somehow fills me with a warm and gentle feeling.

It felt like a small turning point, so I thought I would quietly write down how I feel right now.

This “Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary” began on May 26, 2020.

And since around August of that same year, I’ve been writing every single day—it’s now been almost six years.

Why did it all begin…?

Because I encountered a world called Eorzea—a world so warm, kind, and beautiful.

Because I found “another place to live.”

I think I simply wanted to express that feeling.

I wanted to leave something behind.

And maybe, someday, it might be of help to someone.

Maybe it might become a small spark for someone’s adventure.

And if that happens, perhaps more people will find this “other place to live,” and feel that life can be something truly joyful.

Looking back now, my earliest posts feel a little clumsy— the images, the videos, the writing.

But I always hoped that the people who read them would feel even just a little more comfort, a little more warmth and kindness.

So for these past six years, little by little, day by day, I’ve continued recording these moments—while quietly refining the design and UI along the way.

And before I knew it, so many people had come to see it…

I wonder if it has ever been of help to someone.

If even for a moment, someone found themselves smiling, feeling something gentle and kind—that would make me happy.

Thank you, truly, for reading this simple record of our adventures.

For now, I’ll just say “thank you” about 20 million times. (haha)

This world will surely continue on, gently and endlessly.

And as we walk alongside it, I hope I can keep quietly drawing this “Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary” in a small corner of this world.

I really do.

There is something my brother has been pursuing for a long time.

It is the idea of living in “another world” with “another name.”

In the real world, people are often unable to do what they truly want because of the environment they were born into and the many constraints surrounding them. Because of this, many people are unable to fully express the potential they truly possess.

I don’t think the real world today is an especially easy place to live.

That is why my brother has long pursued the possibilities of anonymity and the idea of having another name. By doing so, he has tried to help human potential blossom in another world—by practicing it himself.

At the time, I didn’t really understand what my brother was talking about. But when I came to the world of Eorzea, I finally understood that another world truly exists.

This place was not just a game world. It was a world that could truly be another world, where many people live their lives.

Just like in the real world, the streets are filled with people. Everyone dresses the way they like, goes shopping, talks with each other, and sometimes even argues or gets into conflicts. It felt no different from the real world—a place where people live their lives.

Here, you can become the person you want to be. Your appearance, your character—both can be shaped as you wish. Of course there are limits and restrictions. But in some ways, those very limits are what allow people to shine, much like in the real world.

And in this world, some people go beyond the environment that the game itself provides and express many kinds of talents. Some create films, some compose music, and others write literary works.

These are clear examples of people’s latent abilities blossoming.

This place is not merely a world that contains game elements. It is another world.

Perhaps the kind of world that the metaverse and VR are now trying to create has already existed here.

The MMO world of Final Fantasy XIV, called Eorzea, is just one example. But in today’s world, where the internet exists, if you have another name, you can probably do almost anything.

And you can have as many “other names” as you like, and as many “other worlds” as you wish.

You can create, work, and live in different worlds under different names.

Those worlds might someday connect with one another, or they may remain quietly parallel.

If human potential can expand in this way, people may be freed from their sense of confinement and find life easier to live. And perhaps humanity itself could become gentler and kinder. If everyone could treat the person next to them with kindness—and that kindness spread—perhaps conflicts in the world might decrease, and peace could grow.

So I hope people will not hesitate to live in “another world” with “another name.”

What my brother has been pursuing for so long…

I might actually be more of an optimist than I realized,
but the truth is—I’ve never once felt “regret” in my entire life.

My big brother often says:

“Without even realizing it, people naturally end up choosing the best possible life for themselves.”

(I think it’s a quote from some wise person from long ago?)

I really believe that’s true.

That’s why I’ve never truly regretted anything. I don’t even feel the need to.

I’ve never once thought, “If only I had done it differently.”

Of course, I get sad and down like anyone else (I’m not some heartless cyborg, lol).

But when it comes to life’s choices? Never a single regret.

Also, I always try to keep this in mind:

“Today might be the very last day of my life.”

That’s exactly why

I want to live every single day with everything I’ve got.

Maybe the reason I never have time to regret is simply because I’m too busy pouring my all into each day. Haha.

So what I always end up thinking is…

I want to bring joy to the people I meet, to the person right in front of me.

I want to help them smile.

I want them to feel joy.

I want them to feel happiness.

If something bad happened to you today, I’ll take all of that negativity for you.

I’ll carry your sadness too.

So please—just stay warm and cozy inside.

Because today really might be the last day, you know?

I might not even have a tomorrow.

That’s why, at the very least, I want to give you my smile with everything I’ve got—one last burst of joy from me!

…At least, that’s how I try to live.

Well, to be honest, pretty much everything I just said is something I picked up from my big brother. lol

I’ve been writing this Norirow Note Eorzea adventure log every day for over five years now, so when I hear that it’s been about 12 years since the rebirth of Eorzea, it does feel like that’s about right…

Twelve years is long enough for entire eras to change dramatically, so in that sense, the fact that such a wonderful world has continued for 12 years might truly be a miracle.

I’m deeply grateful that the world we live in has kept going strong.

This world is probably “another world to live in” for so many people, isn’t it?

In this world, we’re born, we meet and part with people, we experience joy, fun, and all sorts of emotions, and sometimes we struggle with relationships or mourn those we’ve met here who have passed on to the heavens… It’s no different from the real world. Truly, we are living in this world. Long before the word “metaverse” became trendy, we’ve been living in this “other world.”

And no matter where you go, this world is filled with beautiful scenery, thrilling adventures, and moments to chat about trivial things with friends… It’s always, always a kind world waiting for us.

Wow, it goes by so quickly to think that five years have already passed💦 hahaha

Can you believe it? Today marks exactly five years since I started writing Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story.

Honestly, I never imagined I’d be writing every single day like this, let alone that it would continue for five whole years. It’s something I couldn’t have even dreamed of when I first began.

Initially, I started this project with a simple idea: I’d pick out a few of my favorite treasures I found in Eorzea and keep a record of them. I thought, “If I curate these wonderful treasures, maybe they’ll be helpful to someone out there.”

I figured that once I’d finished documenting all my favorite treasures, that would be the end of it…

But even after five years, I still haven’t finished.

That just goes to show how much this world is overflowing with amazing treasures, doesn’t it? Eorzea truly is a vast, magnificent, and gentle world, through and through.

I began this journey in May 2020.

The world was in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic—a really tough time for everyone. On top of that, I was at rock bottom, grieving the loss of a beloved family member who had passed on to the heavens.

But you know what? The world of Eorzea was so kind to me.

It wrapped me in its warmth. It became a place for me to live, to heal.

So I started thinking: How could I give something back to this world… or rather, what could someone like me do to contribute? That’s when I decided to start writing Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story.

Back then, what drove my adventures was the joy of discovering cool new outfits, weapons, and mounts. I’d think, “Oh wow, there’s such a cool weapon like this! Or such a cute outfit!” Those moments of discovery always sparked my next adventure—I’d set out to obtain those treasures for myself.

That’s why I started this record: I hoped it could serve as a little “spark” for others, inspiring even just one more person to embark on their own adventures. That’s the origin of Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story.

And as I went on these adventures, I began to realize something.

I saw just how beautiful, how kind, and how truly magnificent this world is.

I wanted more people to feel that, to experience it for themselves.

If more and more people can come to appreciate the wonders of this world, then Eorzea will surely continue to thrive for years to come. I dream of a future where this world endures for decades, even centuries, becoming a sanctuary for so many more hearts.

That’s the wish—the prayer—I pour into every entry of Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story as I write.

It’s honestly astonishing to think about how many people are following Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story now—something I never could’ve imagined five years ago.

That’s right, I was thinking about how to make it more user-friendly for people who view the site. Especially with so many articles, it’s easy for them to get lost in the shuffle, so I think it was great that we were able to implement the “narrowed search” feature (I’m bragging).

I certainly find this “narrowed search” feature useful, but the rest of it is just your own self-indulgence that no one notices…

• Major addition of tags and revised names (for detailed refined search)

• Created thumbnails for each page due to the addition of categories and tags
• Changed the title design of category pages and tag pages

Fufu, well, I guess it’s fine if you’re having fun! Anyway, looking forward to the sixth year!

Living in this world, you sometimes find connections that make Realzea—our so-called “real world”—pale in comparison.

Because here, we can live as our truest selves, laid bare.

Free from the constraints of Realzea, this is another world—a “true world”—where we can be who we really are.

I used to dream about the “full dive” world depicted in Sword Art Online, but lately, I’ve been thinking that since we’re already living here, it’s not so different, is it? (Though, I’ll admit, a Medicuboid would be pretty nice to have!)

This place is more real than Realzea. Truer than truth itself.

Everything I do here—every action, every word, every letter I write—is more genuine than anything. I’m always sincere, always giving my all.

Living here, just like in Realzea, there are moments of joy and moments of sadness.

And sometimes, I meet you, someone who’s carrying the weight of illness.

I want you to know that I’m always, always wishing and praying for you to find peace, calm, and smiles in this world.

When you’re in trouble, I’ll rush to your side. I’ll always be your ally, always by your side, always holding your hand.

Because I’m strong.

Wishes take shape. Prayers become reality.

I know this to be true.

Especially in a fantasy world like this one. After all, this is Final Fantasy—nothing is impossible.

So, I’m always, always wishing and praying that you’re wrapped in warmth, surrounded by the scent of sunshine, and filled with gentle feelings.

And you know, I also pray that our entire world—this world we share—remains forever warm and kind.

I heard that another friend has passed away and gone to heaven.

An old friend from my time on the old server.

We may not have hung out together that often, but each and every time was a very memorable experience, and your name always came up in conversations with loved ones, so I’ve always felt close to you as a friend.

I think it was after the first FF15 collaboration. We were driving around in our newly acquired Regalia and I remember being so surprised when we accidentally fell off a cliff in Coerthas. (laughs)

Back then, we were all still just novice adventurers.

When I look back at photos from that time, I see that I was tanned, dark-skinned, and had white hair, so it makes me nostalgic when I look at them now.

I have fond memories of the time we went for a drive and fell off a cliff, and also when we went to ID together and panicked because I attracted hostility even though I was a healer.

I won’t forget.

Yok Huy also said that if you don’t forget someone, they will always be alive.

So I believe we’ll meet again soon.

What’s heaven like? Maybe I should call it the ethereal realm.

It must be a peaceful world.

There are many people in this world who use social networking services, and I like to see SS of various people on social networking services, but lately there have been a lot of negative posts, and the atmosphere is a bit heavy, don't you think?
I feel like I see a lot of posts hanging up on problematic behavior, or someone complaining about someone else, and also complaining about the developers. It makes me feel kind of hard when I see things like that. ......
Well, I know I shouldn't look at it, but I can't help but look at it, and when I do, I feel so heavy that I can't even log in. ...... What can I do?

Yeah right ……

I agree that it’s okay to just not watch it, but I also understand that it’s not that easy to do. Both Noriko-chan and I watch it all the time.

And I think the “recommended” feature is also to blame for the negative posts being so visible, I’m sure.

I think negative comments tend to be “strong” and therefore become a hot topic, are easily liked and reposted, and end up being recommended posts.

I think that social media can also be an effective place for people to write about their frustrations and worries, helping to ease their feelings even a little, so it’s somewhat inevitable that negative comments will be written.

Moreover, compared to how easily negative comments are expressed, positive comments such as “it’s fun,” “I’m happy,” and “I like it” may feel awkward and are therefore expressed less frequently.

Just in the world of FF14, for example, it’s hard to say things like “I liked this part of the story” because of the fear of spoilers, but on the other hand, there are a lot of people who will speak out loudly about the bad parts, so negative comments are inevitably “strong.” (In this regard, it would be nice if there was a way to convey gratitude to the developers without the fear of spoilers…)

However, social media is well designed and basically collects things that you might be interested in in a “recommended” section, right?

If you peruse a negative post, read more of it, or even like or repost it, it will be assumed that you are interested in it and you will be automatically shown more similar negative posts.

And worst of all, if you yourself make negative comments, similar dark topics will just keep coming up.

Birds of a feather flock together.

…So first of all, you simply need to do the opposite.

You don’t read posts you don’t like (although some are unavoidable because they are recommended to you). You don’t read further posts. Of course, you don’t like or repost posts, and you don’t send out negative messages yourself.

…That’s true, but I think there’s something more important than that.

It is to transmit your “fun,” “happiness,” and “likes” more and more.
