On this “Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary,” there’s actually a nostalgic little “access counter” quietly sitting in the sidebar.

When I looked at it just now, I noticed it had passed 20 million views before I even realized. Wow.

To be honest, I’m not really sure whether that number is big or not. But thinking that this simple record of our adventures has been seen 20 million times somehow fills me with a warm and gentle feeling.

It felt like a small turning point, so I thought I would quietly write down how I feel right now.

This “Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary” began on May 26, 2020.

And since around August of that same year, I’ve been writing every single day—it’s now been almost six years.

Why did it all begin…?

Because I encountered a world called Eorzea—a world so warm, kind, and beautiful.

Because I found “another place to live.”

I think I simply wanted to express that feeling.

I wanted to leave something behind.

And maybe, someday, it might be of help to someone.

Maybe it might become a small spark for someone’s adventure.

And if that happens, perhaps more people will find this “other place to live,” and feel that life can be something truly joyful.

Looking back now, my earliest posts feel a little clumsy— the images, the videos, the writing.

But I always hoped that the people who read them would feel even just a little more comfort, a little more warmth and kindness.

So for these past six years, little by little, day by day, I’ve continued recording these moments—while quietly refining the design and UI along the way.

And before I knew it, so many people had come to see it…

I wonder if it has ever been of help to someone.

If even for a moment, someone found themselves smiling, feeling something gentle and kind—that would make me happy.

Thank you, truly, for reading this simple record of our adventures.

For now, I’ll just say “thank you” about 20 million times. (haha)

This world will surely continue on, gently and endlessly.

And as we walk alongside it, I hope I can keep quietly drawing this “Norirow Note: Eorzean Diary” in a small corner of this world.

I really do.

There is something my brother has been pursuing for a long time.

It is the idea of living in “another world” with “another name.”

In the real world, people are often unable to do what they truly want because of the environment they were born into and the many constraints surrounding them. Because of this, many people are unable to fully express the potential they truly possess.

I don’t think the real world today is an especially easy place to live.

That is why my brother has long pursued the possibilities of anonymity and the idea of having another name. By doing so, he has tried to help human potential blossom in another world—by practicing it himself.

At the time, I didn’t really understand what my brother was talking about. But when I came to the world of Eorzea, I finally understood that another world truly exists.

This place was not just a game world. It was a world that could truly be another world, where many people live their lives.

Just like in the real world, the streets are filled with people. Everyone dresses the way they like, goes shopping, talks with each other, and sometimes even argues or gets into conflicts. It felt no different from the real world—a place where people live their lives.

Here, you can become the person you want to be. Your appearance, your character—both can be shaped as you wish. Of course there are limits and restrictions. But in some ways, those very limits are what allow people to shine, much like in the real world.

And in this world, some people go beyond the environment that the game itself provides and express many kinds of talents. Some create films, some compose music, and others write literary works.

These are clear examples of people’s latent abilities blossoming.

This place is not merely a world that contains game elements. It is another world.

Perhaps the kind of world that the metaverse and VR are now trying to create has already existed here.

The MMO world of Final Fantasy XIV, called Eorzea, is just one example. But in today’s world, where the internet exists, if you have another name, you can probably do almost anything.

And you can have as many “other names” as you like, and as many “other worlds” as you wish.

You can create, work, and live in different worlds under different names.

Those worlds might someday connect with one another, or they may remain quietly parallel.

If human potential can expand in this way, people may be freed from their sense of confinement and find life easier to live. And perhaps humanity itself could become gentler and kinder. If everyone could treat the person next to them with kindness—and that kindness spread—perhaps conflicts in the world might decrease, and peace could grow.

So I hope people will not hesitate to live in “another world” with “another name.”

What my brother has been pursuing for so long…

I might actually be more of an optimist than I realized,
but the truth is—I’ve never once felt “regret” in my entire life.

My big brother often says:

“Without even realizing it, people naturally end up choosing the best possible life for themselves.”

I really believe that’s true.

That’s why I’ve never truly regretted anything. I don’t even feel the need to.

I’ve never once thought, “If only I had done it differently.”

Of course, I get sad and down like anyone else (I’m not some heartless cyborg, lol).

But when it comes to life’s choices? Never a single regret.

Also, I always try to keep this in mind:

“Today might be the very last day of my life.”

That’s exactly why

I want to live every single day with everything I’ve got.

Maybe the reason I never have time to regret is simply because I’m too busy pouring my all into each day. Haha.

So what I always end up thinking is…

I want to bring joy to the people I meet, to the person right in front of me.

I want to help them smile.

I want them to feel joy.

I want them to feel happiness.

If something bad happened to you today, I’ll take all of that negativity for you.

I’ll carry your sadness too.

So please—just stay warm and cozy inside.

Because today really might be the last day, you know?

I might not even have a tomorrow.

That’s why, at the very least, I want to give you my smile with everything I’ve got—one last burst of joy from me!

Twelve years is long enough for entire eras to change dramatically, so in that sense, the fact that such a wonderful world has continued for 12 years might truly be a miracle.

Wow, it goes by so quickly to think that five years have already passed💦 hahaha

Can you believe it? Today marks exactly five years since I started writing Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story.

Honestly, I never imagined I’d be writing every single day like this, let alone that it would continue for five whole years. It’s something I couldn’t have even dreamed of when I first began.

Initially, I started this project with a simple idea: I’d pick out a few of my favorite treasures I found in Eorzea and keep a record of them. I thought, “If I curate these wonderful treasures, maybe they’ll be helpful to someone out there.”

I figured that once I’d finished documenting all my favorite treasures, that would be the end of it…

But even after five years, I still haven’t finished.

That just goes to show how much this world is overflowing with amazing treasures, doesn’t it? Eorzea truly is a vast, magnificent, and gentle world, through and through.

I began this journey in May 2020.

The world was in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic—a really tough time for everyone. On top of that, I was at rock bottom, grieving the loss of a beloved family member who had passed on to the heavens.

But you know what? The world of Eorzea was so kind to me.

It wrapped me in its warmth. It became a place for me to live, to heal.

So I started thinking: How could I give something back to this world… or rather, what could someone like me do to contribute? That’s when I decided to start writing Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story.

Back then, what drove my adventures was the joy of discovering cool new outfits, weapons, and mounts. I’d think, “Oh wow, there’s such a cool weapon like this! Or such a cute outfit!” Those moments of discovery always sparked my next adventure—I’d set out to obtain those treasures for myself.

That’s why I started this record: I hoped it could serve as a little “spark” for others, inspiring even just one more person to embark on their own adventures. That’s the origin of Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story.

And as I went on these adventures, I began to realize something.

I saw just how beautiful, how kind, and how truly magnificent this world is.

I wanted more people to feel that, to experience it for themselves.

If more and more people can come to appreciate the wonders of this world, then Eorzea will surely continue to thrive for years to come. I dream of a future where this world endures for decades, even centuries, becoming a sanctuary for so many more hearts.

That’s the wish—the prayer—I pour into every entry of Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story as I write.

It’s honestly astonishing to think about how many people are following Norirow Note Eorzean Adventure Story now—something I never could’ve imagined five years ago.

Free from the constraints of Realzea, this is another world—a “true world”—where we can be who we really are.

I used to dream about the “full dive” world depicted in Sword Art Online, but lately, I’ve been thinking that since we’re already living here, it’s not so different, is it? (Though, I’ll admit, a Medicuboid would be pretty nice to have!)

This place is more real than Realzea. Truer than truth itself.

Everything I do here—every action, every word, every letter I write—is more genuine than anything. I’m always sincere, always giving my all.

I heard that another friend has passed away and gone to heaven.

Yeah right ……

I agree that it’s okay to just not watch it, but I also understand that it’s not that easy to do. Both Noriko-chan and I watch it all the time.

And I think the “recommended” feature is also to blame for the negative posts being so visible, I’m sure.

I think negative comments tend to be “strong” and therefore become a hot topic, are easily liked and reposted, and end up being recommended posts.

I think that social media can also be an effective place for people to write about their frustrations and worries, helping to ease their feelings even a little, so it’s somewhat inevitable that negative comments will be written.

But now I am thinking that maybe Sphane “wanted me to stop myself”.

She already has a “destiny she can’t stop by herself”, though.

However, she has an incredibly kind heart, and deep down she may not have wanted to fulfill her mission at the expense of others’ misfortune.

But she was no longer able to stop it herself. I think deep down she was hoping that someone, somewhere, would stop her.

So I guess it’s good that I was able to stop her.

Many things have happened in my adventures so far, but whenever I faced someone I always found myself conflicted.

Gaius in A Realm Reborn, Thordan in Heavensward, Varis in Stormblood, Emet-Selch in Shadowbringers, and Hermes and Meteion in Endwalker.

Their “justice” was something I could really sympathize with, and I was troubled as to whether I should confront them, and after defeating them, I always wondered if it was the right thing to do. I still think that the world they wanted would have been a much happier place for everyone.

But this might be the first time that I’ve felt glad that I was able to stop her.

In that sense, DAWNTRAIL may be the story with the most satisfying ending to date.

Of course, that may change as we go on more adventures.

The new patch 7.1 is coming soon, and we may hear about Zoraal Ja and Sphene in it.

There are still many mysteries surrounding preservation, the key that connects the world, and reflections of the source.

Right now I’m really excited about the adventure that awaits me.

Honestly, DAWNTRAIL was a lot more fun than I expected.

SMILE was a big theme this time. It was even used as the ending song.

There were a lot of sad things that happened, but just like the theme says, I was able to smile in the end.

And I was able to smile with excitement for the adventure that was to come.

That’s why I think “DAWNTRAIL” was a really good work.

Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful adventure.

My thoughts have ended up being a bit disjointed, though.

I was actually a little worried about going on this adventure after seeing a lot of harsh reviews, so it was an even more enjoyable adventure that overturned my expectations in a good way.

So, that concludes my thoughts and thanks on “DAWNTRAIL”.

It was an adventure that had me smiling the whole time.
